Gates Soccer Recreation Program Introduction
Teaching fundamental soccer skills is an essential part of the Gates Soccer Recreation Program program. We encourage our coaching staff members to teach the very fundamentals of soccer, and to teach and lead by example. Age appropriate skills will be presented at each level in our program. You will find that soccer is fun and exciting for the whole family!
The program registration fee includes a complete uniform (jersey, short and socks). No additional funds are required to participate. The registration fee also includes an end of season celebration with soccer games, pizza, ice cream, and participation awards. There will be a picture day with a professional photographer to take pictures of your athlete. Purchasing pictures is optional but we wish all players to be included in the team picture for our records.
Pee Wee players will receive a complimentary size #3 soccer ball to keep and practice with. We require that ALL players wear soccer shin guards which you must provide. We recommend soccer cleats for all ages but they would not necessarily be required for Pee Wee players.
Boys and Girls in ther U10-U19 age groups will compete in the inter-town divisions. Inter-town matches are played in the immediate surrounding towns, and some driving may be required to get to the field locations.
The season runs 12 weeks from May through July and players from surrounding towns can participate. All players need to be division age by July 31 of the season year and must bring their own shinguards. Cleats are not required but must be non-metal if worn.
