Metros Travel Soccer programs are open to all boys and girls in the local and surrounding areas. Regular travel soccer league matches are played in neighboring towns (typically less than 30 minute drive) in the Rochester area during the months May-July.
Training is what differentiates travel soccer from the house soccer programs. Teams normally train throughout the fall and winter months, in preparation for the regular game season. Teams train at indoor facilities and may choose to participate in local indoor soccer leagues or indoor tournaments as part of their activities. Our player registration fees are nominal, and teams may choose to host fundraising events, or seek donations, to supplement team funding and to pay costs for activities.
Age eligibility for travel soccer is 8U-19U. A tryout/evaluation is typically required for the player to demonstrate a reasonable level of interest and ability before participating in the program. We encourage you to contact us for any information regarding the Metros Travel Soccer program.
At this time we are expecting that teams and players will be permitted to Return to Play beginning on July 6, 2020. We share in the excitement and the urge to get back to soccer. Please keep in mind, all of us, all of you, must be responsible and proceed with caution. Start slowly and build up gradually, and eventually return to peak potential. Most of all stay safe and be well.
As a member of Gates Youth Soccer, we will require you to submit a "Hold Harmless" waiver for each member who chooses to participate in activities with the club. Please find a link to the waiver that follows. The waiver is required to be submitted before participation in any soccer activities associated with Gates Youth Soccer. You must complete a waiver for each Metros player in your household and return to your team coach/manager before July 6, 2020.
As you contemplate returning to the pitch, it might also be helpful to take the Play on Pledge. The Play On Pledge is a powerful and unifying “call to action,” providing a foundation and opportunity for coaches, teams, players and communities to proactively affirm their commitment to health and safety during this challenging time. While every club and team situation is different, the Pledge enables members of our broad U.S. Soccer community to come together as one, in respect for the sport, each other and themselves. Together, we can keep our community healthy and safe. Show your commitment by signing the online pledge now.
You may request a tryout by pre-registering at the link, or by contacting us by email. If you do send email, please be sure to include your gender and date of birth so that we can direct your request appropriately.

Players may not "play down" to a lower age group. Contact us for more information regarding age groups for travel soccer.

We work to improve the level of play for each player, and to show players how much fun they can have learning the sport of soccer. We teach them the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness while considering their individual development.
We consider the 09U-12U age groups to be developmental, while the ages 13U-19U are typically increasing levels of competitive play. Metros Travel Soccer is an organized, safe, and enjoyable soccer experience for kids who want to play throughout the school year.

Metros Travel Soccer programs offer a competitive soccer environment for the enjoyment of our players and their families. Training is an essential part of any travel soccer program. Many of our teams train in indoor facilities throughout the fall and winter months and into the pre-game season. Players must attend a tryout to be considered for placement on a Metros Travel Soccer team.
Travel soccer is a great environment for competitiveness and high-level skills training. Any players considering making the jump to a traveling team should be made aware of the following:
